Exotix has a third party fund marketing business focused on acting as placement agents for small to medium Emerging Market-themed funds, in particular niche funds which have a specific country or product focus. Typically the funds we work with are start-up funds looking to raise money from alternative asset investors. The funds usually do not have their own marketing team and need assistance in accessing the alternative EM investor-base. For example, Exotix has successfully raised funds for a multi-strategy Sub Saharan Africa and Middle East Hedge Fund, a Cuban fund, a Serbian Real Estate Fund a South Eastern Europe land banking fund. Exotix is working with a number of alternative funds with ‘unique selling points’ in sectors like timber and agricultural crops and with unusual themes like EM Exotix debt or private equity.
