Research Centre
Exotix’s Research Team provides research and analysis to support its fixed income brokerage and equity trading businesses. Research is also provided to support other business areas, such as structured deals and origination. We produce regular notes and commentaries, thematic pieces and can respond to specific client requests. The Research team consists of a Chief Economist, two financial analysts and three equity analysts.
Fixed Income
Sales and distribution is backed up by specific reports produced on an ongoing basis by our research team. The research covers alternative topics and assets across all the markets we trade in, providing macroeconomic commentaries, investment strategy pieces and corporate analysis. Our flagship publication is the Exotix Emerging Market Debt Guide, the definitive reference guide to the Political, Economic and Debt situations in around 40 countries.
Equities
Exotix offers original, independent equity research on over 250 companies, across 14 African stock markets (excluding South Africa). Our research team is based in London and Ghana. Equity Research is supported by our local broker relationships, who facilitate access to the latest, audited financial data. The analysts maintain a proprietary database having historical financial information on many African corporates, dating back as far as 1990. Exotix publishes research on companies identified as offering clients good valuations and reasonable prices. Our analysts are able to identify a variety of stocks across sub-Saharan Africa and help clients avoid those markets experiencing speculative and extreme valuations. Our bottom-up equity analysis is complemented with top-down macroeconomic research provided by an in-house economist. Our economic research team can comment on macro-economic environments for all the African countries, not only those with existing stock markets. Our economist can lend perspective on sovereign/corporate credit risk as well.
